Eligibility Requirements

for the 2008-2009 School Year

  1. To be considered for a Modeen Scholarship, an applicant must be a member in good standing of Emanuel Lutheran Church.  This requires the applicant to be involved in the ongoing ministry of the church, have made a financial gift of record in the year 2007 and be recorded as having communed in the year 2007.

 

  1. Eligible members must be enrolled full-time, or have been accepted and plan to enroll full-time, in a four-year college or university for both the fall and spring semesters of the upcoming academic year.  Applicants enrolled in a Lutheran college, or those accepted by and planning to enroll in a Lutheran college, may be considered for a larger award.

 

  1. Eligible members may apply on an annual basis for a maximum of four years.

 

  1. Students awarded a Modeen Scholarship must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average over the course of their college or university studies.

 

  1. To be considered for an award, students must complete an application.  The content of these applications is reviewed and evaluated by the Modeen Scholarship committee.  Please make them complete.  Applications are available in the Emanuel Church Office.  Please stop by to pick up an application, or call the church office at 860-525-0894 and an application will be mailed to your home.

 

  1. Completed applications and an official transcript must be received by Alice Brown on or before June 21, 2008.  Late applications will not be considered.
